At the Automobile & Technique Museum Sinsheim you will experience the adventure of technology in a unique form.
The museum was opened in 1981. Today it has more than 3,000 exhibits on an area of more than 50,000 m². It consists of halls and an open air exhibition, with 30,000 m² of hall space. The museum is associated with the Technological Museum Speyer, which is about 30 minutes away.
The majority of the exhibits are made up of vehicles and thus incorporate everything from; a baby carriage exhibition to an original bicycle collection, an area with fischertechnik models of motorcycles, to passenger cars, sports cars, Formula 1 vehicles, dragsters and even the world record vehicle Blue Flame. Not to forget, the military exhibition with armoured vehicles, as well as numerous historical (steam) locomotives. Here you can be sure a wide range is covered. The second focus is on aircrafts, some of which can be walked on.
The most important attractions are certainly the French Concorde and the Russian Tupolev Tu-144. The Concorde was donated to the museum by, Air France in 2003. Sinsheim, is currently the only place where you can see both supersonic jets next to each other.
In addition to the exhibitions, the museum also has an IMAX 3D cinema with a 22 m × 27 m giant wall.
