The botanic garden Heidelberg, was founded in 1593 as "Hortus medicus" at the 200 year old Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. It is also, the third oldest botanic garden of Germany. Over the years of its history, the garden was displaced seven times. Here, you will find more than 14,000 different species of plants in culture. The main focus of the gardens are the green houses. Unfortunately, only a few are accessible.
