If you are looking for entertainment during your stay at the Hotel Hirschgasse or would like to make your little one(s) happy, the Heidelberg Zoo is a great place full of endless amusement. With its beautifully designed enclosures and very well-kept green areas, it exudes a charm that is hard to experience in any other zoo in the world.
The zoo has a diverse abundance of animals with many rare species. The Heidelberg zoo, is the only German zoo and amongst the few in the world, that has a group of young elephant bulls that were able to be kept so closely attached to the same social environment as their natural habitat.
Our tip: For a visit with your children the playground with its large pirate ship offers a unique experience, and don't forget to take a detour to the petting zoo.
